Going to buy a 360 and need to know...?

im getting a new 120 gig 360 and want to kn ow if it worth paying for the protection plan. has anybody had problems with the new model and also please answer this, how much does it cost to have your 360 fixed by microsoft if it breaks on me and i dont have the warrenty.
